Introduction:

Hello,

This is my book.

I am offering the first five chapters of Your Story Matters on this site,

. It will give you a fair understanding of the nature of the Story and why you ought to write yours.

I don’t mean the “Ain’t it awful” story, although if it was awful, that ought to be addressed. The point is to own it, heal it, and move on. Not that it’s that simple, but that’s the goal.

My words won’t heal you, but your introspection will.

This story, mine, stretches back to WWII when my father left the family.

And it covers the little girl I was who believed she chose her parents, even though her mother was only 16. She liked who she was, ran wild, and loved her animals—her dog and horse.

Oprah Winfrey says she comes as one but has 10,000 behind her. We all do. We are a product of all the people whose shoulders we stand on and whose heritage we have embedded within us.

Magnificent people I have known are here as well, to read about and to enjoy: Jack, the WWII pilot shot down three times, twice the sole survivor; June, the most upbeat person I have known; and Bill Fisher, my writing buddy, who was once a Peace Corp volunteer.

Whoops, I’m giving away too much—just a taste. I want you to know what you are getting into. So, read the book, tell me what you think, and then write your own story. We need to hear it, and you need to tell it.

Thank you for reading,

Jo
