I Blame Trump
Yet how could I when we gave him power? I'm not sure we gave him power; I believe he stole it, bought it, or gaslighted us into giving it to him. But wait, still, it happened. We left the door open.
Did we love Darth Vader so much that we followed him? Or did we fear him so much that we cowered? Did the dark side appeal to us? Did we feel helpless to defend ourselves, and thus we gave up?
Something happened to us. We experienced a pandemic that weakened our resistance, wore us down, and made us vulnerable. (Notice the pandemic is rarely spoken of anymore.) Some lost their jobs, their businesses, their self-respect, their health, their families. Families became divided.
The argument over vaccines caused a rift. We feared that some laboratory could create a deadly something that could wipe out the population. Voices yammered in our heads. The Media spewed out lies, conspiracies, arguments, complaints, innuendoes, and suppositions. Many citizens blamed the authorities for not knowing what they were doing.
They didn’t. Solutions are often hard to find.
Many lost respect for the powers of the United States. They thought we were warmongers and only cared about the mighty buck; those in power were getting richer while we were getting poorer. The middle class that once gave America power and who fought and won over an authoritarian government that was the seed of WWII slipped through our fingers.
People were struggling with their health—even before the pandemic. Psychiatrists and Psychologists were overwhelmed. Some quit.
We argued over vaccines. We argued over where that deadly virus came from. Was it natural or man-made? We were angry. Violence erupted.
We argued over whether that violence was warranted. People were arrested, sent to jail, then pardoned.
"She deserves to be spanked," said one insulting statesman when Kamala Harris, a woman, dared to oppose those mighty men scrambling for power.
The obliteration of woman’s rights came into being. Control her biological health. Control her right to choose. Deny her hospital care in the case of a miscarriage. Threaten doctors--they might be interfering with a pregnancy. Force a woman to carry a pregnancy to its end, even if she was raped.
Wage war on the immigrants. They are "rapists and criminals," so say the head of our established government. Yet it is upon the immigrants' backs who want a better life who agree to serve us, who work on the farms--you know, that institution that feeds us while we are complaining about grocery prices.
Times were ripe for controllers to storm in and declare that they would fix what was wrong with us. Isn't this exactly how control is orchestrated?
First, you create the problem—you get people to believe it—then you offer a solution.
Look at the media. Lies spew forth daily. One side says the other side is lying. The other side says the same.
I am reminded of Dr. Seuss's book, The Sneeches. Half of the Sneeches had stars on their bellies. The other half did not. The Star-Bellied Sneeches bragged that we're the best Sneeches on the Beaches and would have nothing to do with the Plain-belly sort. The ones without stars wanted a star on their belly.
Along came a Star seller who put stars on the bellies of those who did not have them. The original puffed-up Sneechers had theirs removed. The only one making hay was the one who was putting on stars and taking them off. Soon, the Sneakers didn't know who was the original Star-Belly Sneeches and who weren’t.
Along came a man who said, "Make America Great Again."
Along came a man who said he would make America healthy again.
Wait, people are waking up. We might not have the solution, but we darn well do not want a dictator to decide for us.
We can pull ourselves up by the bootstraps, we’re done it before, we can do it again.
We have some pride and gumption left. It is estimated that 5.1 million Americans protested last Saturday June 14, 2025 at a Nation-wide “No King’s” march.
On Saturday night, I learned about the 3.5% rule.
And so said the 3.5%...
